Written Interviews

Interview with Abid Hasan, CEO of Supreme Automation and Engineering, Bangladesh.

I got a chance to take an interview with Mr. Abid Hasan, the CEO of Supreme Automation and Engineering, which is situated in Bangladesh.

I took the interview over the phone and here I presented his interview in written format. I hope you all might be inspired.

                   Mr. Adid Hasan

  1. Tell me something about yourself?

I am Abid Hasan. I have graduated in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from The University of Asia Pacific in the year 2011. After my graduation, I joined as a Maintenance Engineer in Sterling Style Ltd which was a garment manufacturing company. I worked there about two years. After that, I started my own company Supreme Automation & Engineering along with two partners

  1. What led you to become an entrepreneur in electrical industry?

The textile industry is the most promising and large industry of Bangladesh. The industry needs different kinds of machinery. But the companies of this industry are mostly dependent on the foreign engineers and machine companies for supports and supports. So I thought of forming a local company which could be an alternative to foreign dependency.

  1. Can you tell me a little brief about your company?

Primarily Supreme Automation & Engineering started its journey as a service-oriented organization specifically targeting the textile industry of Bangladesh. At its early stage, the company used to provide only services on machine automation, troubleshooting, and programming etc. But now the company is also providing machine parts like different types of motors, inverters, and PLCs as well as the services.

  1. How did you obtain funding for your business?

We were three partners who started the company. At the early stage, we personally invested in the company. But after a period of time, we took the loan from the bank for further expansion of our company.

  1. Do you currently have investors?

No, currently we do not have any external partners in our organization.

  1. What do you think about the scope of your business in terms of Bangladesh perspective?

With the flourishing industrialization in Bangladesh, the textile industry is also growing. So the scope of this business is also increasing. Though it’s a very competitive market still I think if a company can be consistent and prompt service provider then it will capture the market within a very short time.

  1. What is your future plan?

The ultimate goal of this company is to be the market leader in the electrical & electronic automation industry of Bangladesh.

  1. What do you think is the most important characteristic of a successful entrepreneur?

To be successful an entrepreneur must be honest, consistent, dedicated, positive, well planned etc. But the most important to me is to be patient. Because in the journey of a company there will be a lot of ups and downs. The entrepreneur must be patient enough to overcome the odds and look forward to the future. Otherwise, he will not survive in this competitive harsh market.

  1. What advice do you have for startup entrepreneurs?

To be an entrepreneur is far more difficult from being a service holder. Because you are establishing a company and you will be responsible for each and every aspect of the company. So my advice for a startup entrepreneur is; belief in yourself, be confident, don’t lose hope and never give up in the middle. Success will come.

I am really thankful to Mr. Abid Hasan that he gave me the time for the interview and I am feeling inspired after conducting his interview.
