Interview Questions with Tyrone Robinson 2/28/2018
Introduction:
Narrative (Kristin): Hello my name is Kristin Ellison and this is my Subject Matter Expert Interview for ENT 601. I am here with Tyrone Robinson of Together Is Everything. A business interested in promoting the businesses and needs of others.
Brief Biography: Tyrone Robinson is a native of Durham, NC which is also the heart of his primary business Together Is Everything. Together Is Everything is Tyrone’s way of giving back to Durham as a way to give entrepreneurs their own light of purpose. Tyrone believes that every light has a different purpose and burns from a different fuel of experience. T.I.E short for Together Is Everything was created to enhance visibility of entrepreneurs and their brand, bring partnership (team ship) to a world that focuses on self-advancement and to bring the spirit of “togetherness”. Tyrone lives by the mantra “If it doesn’t exist, create it.” Together Is Everything was created with purpose. Purpose in anything you create will involve challenges. The best part is that the challenges you face, create a better you. Growing up Tyrone learned the importance of vision. Vision is defined as a mental image of the future; an idea or perception or strong thought of what is possible but has not yet happened. His personal charge is to keep crafting his vision for Together Is Everything, for my future. In which he believes, a job that will never be finished.
Narrative (Kristin): So let’s get started! Together Is Everything is a newer business, in the market realm of consulting and advertising.
Questions:
- Where/How did T.I.E come about? (Give us the innovative idea that led you to this product/idea/market)?
(Tyrone): When I started TIE, one main question I asked business owners what was the number one gap that needed to be filled in your experiences of owning an business. The most frequent answer I received was exposure and increasing clientele. So, I developed my business on helping businesses all over the world by promoting and broadcasting their expertise and skill set.
- Tyrone, you are known for your transparency so when you first started T.I.E, what were your first thoughts and feelings?
(Tyrone): My first thoughts and feelings stemmed from me dreaming about helping the world become a better best with my vision. Ever since I started my business, I have made it my duty to become the next big company who makes a difference in a positive way for this lifetime.
- How many businesses do you see yourself holding in the future? Are there any businesses out now that you could think of revamping?
(Tyrone): As cliché as this may sound, all of them. I know that sounds pretty farfetched but if there was any way I can help every single business in some way shape or form then my duty has been met.
- In your experience, what do you value as success? (i.e failures and pitfalls, networking with others, small progress).
(Tyrone): I value success with experiences. For an example if I were to be able to meet a business owner for the first time and work with him/her, at the end of the day they are happy and they really feel like I made a positive impact to their services and or product and the experiences was so grand that they will tell the next business owner about the company, then that is success to me. You only get one chance to make a first impression and to have people around the world speak well of you is a core foundation of positive relationships.
- Tyrone, I have also researched that you have another business in photography. Tell me more about how you want to expand there (or how it connects with TIE)?
(Tyrone): Yes, I also do photography as well. It connects with T.I.E because most businesses need events captured, pictures of their product, professional headshots for their websites (just to name a few) which goes hand in hand with TIE
- How have you maintained your humility? How do you stay self-motivated?
(Tyrone): I Listen to a lot of inspirational and motivational podcast or even just listening to speakers tell their stories on how they because successful and try to remind myself that it’s not an easy road and to never give up no matter how hard It gets.
- Give one story, example, quote that really keeps you going and you would use as a tool of advice to others
(Tyrone): One of the quotes that I always tell people are to “Become what’s needed”. As we walk along our own path of life we come across situations where you may feel something can be better, or even in your childhood and you think to yourself like “my childhood would have been better if I knew xyz” or I feel I would have been way more prepared if I was taught xyz by my parents. We all have something that we see with our own eyes and feel with our own hearts that could be better. And we see and feel this for a reason, so why not be the change that’s needed in this world to make it a better place. Hence the quote “Become what’s needed”. Sometimes we can expect or feel like someone else should do it because it’s a whole big world out there. However what makes each of us special is because you have something within yourself that others don’t. And maybe, just maybe it’s not created yet because it’s waiting on you.
