What is your favorite part of owning your business?
The best thing about owning a business for me is the flexibility it provides for my family. As a homeschooling family of six, it is nice to be able to schedule my work time around other family needs.
Jeanne Newport followed her passion for candles to start Scentsable Soy Candles in August 2009. She shares the challenges she faced starting the business. Since she makes her own products, she talks about her first-year challenges with testing, research and development, and storage.

Barbara Driggers is passionate about getting local and organic produce into American households. She supports the local farmers and businesses and places a high priority on education. She has a very common sense approach to running a business. She shares how developing good relationships with her customers helped her grow her business and get things done in the store. She wants to let entrepreneurs know that you can start a business even if you don’t have much money.

James Orsinger solves customers’ computer problems. He built a thriving business within a three mile radius. His word of mouth business is over 90%. He has successfully promoted himself and his company.
