ENT 640: Subject Matter Expert Interview with Mark Semo.
Mark has been in the financial industry for nearly 40 years. He has held many title positions, including CPA, COO, and is currently CFO for Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Through his career he has experienced many situations I could not fathom attempting to navigate. Equipped with his perseverance and positive mentality when faced with a challenge he adapts and learns how to tackle each challenge. We discuss how he began his career as a CPA and how over the years he shifted his path, now acting as CFO for a Child Advocacy Center. He shares a few juicy anecdotes from his early days as a young CPA and how it helped propel him into his long and successful career. Our interview is a bit on the long side, and I eventually had to wrap it up, even though I could have talked with him for ages, while listening to his stories and picking his brain on small business development, not being afraid to fail and asking when is a good time to join forces with an accountant?
