Employment Law Attorney Jonathan Yarbrough’s Advice on Startup Staffing

Jonathan Yarbrough (Jon), Partner of Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP in Asheville, North Carolina shares (MP3 file below) his employment law advice for business startups including stories related to the mistakes and issues he’s encountered with startup businesses. Jon stresses,  multiple times during the interview, that founders need to understand and pay attention to wage and hours regulations to help prevent major law suits in the future.

The interview took place last week on September 7th. Prior to the interview Jon shared that he’s also a volunteer mentor for Venture Asheville.

Interview with David Wessell of Ringfree Communications

I had the pleasure of sitting down with David Wessell, founder of Ringfree Communications in Hendersonville, NC for a chat about his experience as an entrepreneur.  I’ve worked with David for a few years now as his client and can say with confidence that his vision and determination should be an inspiration to entrepreneurs everywhere.

Ringfree has developed a Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) phone system with a high emphasis on customer service. While most of their competitors are resellers of someone else’s technology, Ringfree writes the software that controls the user experience.  This puts them in a unique position to react quickly to client requests and differentiates them in a significant way.
